The Pennsylvania State Constable is the law enforcement branch of the District Courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Constable is the oldest law enforcement branch of Pennsylvania and since the enactment of Act 44-1994, they are fully certified by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. The Constable may also act as a local law enforcement officer of his bailiwick under supervision of the local government.
